WHO IS KLOOSTERBOER?

WHERE WAS THE STUDY CONDUCTED?

The study was conducted at the Kloosterboer warehouse in Vlissingen (the Netherlands).

WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF THE CASE STUDY?

The case study should show the added value of Adgreencoat and it’s
saving potential in costs and CO2 emissions.

HOW WAS THE STUDY CONDUCTED?

2 parcels of a big cold storage warehouse were picked with the following prerequisites:

  • Located next to each other in the same building.
  • Same roof size on both parcels (700 m2 roof area).
  • Same roof type on both parcels (bitumen).
  • One parcel’s roof.

WHAT COULD BE OBSERVED?

The study was conducted from March-June 2017 in Vlissingen’s moderated European climate. The cooling equipment in each parcel was set to a fixed temperature of 1,5 C. At the sun’s highest point, there was an average temperature difference of 6,82 C between both parcels. So on average, Parcel 13 was 6,82 C warmer than Parcel 14 during the “hottest” time of the day. Please note the resulting differences in electricity use on the right.

ENERGY & CO2 SAVINGS

The results of the study show extrapolated yearly savings of approximately 38677 kWh per 700 m2 roof area.

 

 

Results:

17% reduc(on in electricity consumption.

33 kg/m3 per year reduction in CO2 emissions.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT

After only 2.5 years, the investment has been paid back completely and started to save money – even in Vlissingen’s moderate European climate! Not to forget the additional benefits that also save money and protect your building and equipment.
